Brown Addition |
2005 |
The Brown Addition, although not a spectacular addition, lays out the basic information I use to describe an addition. One exception being the lack of a Demolition Plan page. The demolition, in this case, was so minor in the amount of notes that I incorporated the demolition notes into the floor plan.
The Brown Addition does give an example of a specific type of roof condition in an addition, the roof over. When an addition calls for the roof line to be continued across the roof span, the trusses could be designed as mono trusses, stopping at the existing wall and causing the carpenter to conventional frame in the new peak and areas in between. However, with a little care in the design end, the trusses can be designed to be set just above the existing roof, creating the new peak line in the truss set. This can be seen in the Roof Framing Plan and in details D3, D4, and D5.
